TEST DIRECTOR/OPERATION MANAGER

Location: Ostiglia (Mantua), Lombardy – Italy

Project: 880 MW CCGT Power Plant

Starting Date: May 2025

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Test Director / Operation Manager to oversee the final testing and initial operation phases of a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant project in Ostiglia, Italy.

The selected candidate will play a central role in coordinating plant performance testing, managing operational readiness, and ensuring successful handover to the client.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate all plant performance testing and validation activities (mechanical, electrical, and I&C).
• Ensure strict compliance with project specifications, safety procedures, and operational protocols.
• Supervise the start-up and initial operation of the plant, ensuring all systems are functioning as designed.
• Interface with engineering, commissioning, construction, QA/QC, and client representatives.
• Manage and guide a multidisciplinary team of supervisors, operators, and test engineers.
• Prepare and validate test procedures, reports, and documentation for client approval.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues or performance deviations.
• Contribute to the plant’s transition from commissioning to commercial operation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields).
• 10+ years of experience in CCGT power plant testing, commissioning, or operations.
• Proven experience as a Test Director, Operation Manager, or similar leadership role on large-scale power projects (preferably over 500 MW).
• Strong knowledge of performance testing, grid synchronization, and plant optimization.
• Fluent in English and Italian (spoken and written)
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with international EPC environments and safety standards.
