Description:
Outback Stores is seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to oversee the efficient and effective running of our remote retail stores. This role involves managing daily operations, including driving sales, controlling costs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing staff performance. As an Operations Manager, you will work closely with Area Managers to implement strategic initiatives, improve employee retention, and deliver exceptional service to the local communities we serve. You will also be responsible for maintaining high operational standards across stores to ensure profitability and growth.
Skills and Experiences: Objective:
Accountable for leading the Area Managers to drive profitable outcomes for local communities. To accomplish this, you will have overall responsibility of your region where you will ensure effective implementation and management of Outback Stores retail operations, policies and procedures as well as develop local area initiatives to improve retention and development of local store employees.
Key Accountabilities:
Relationships
- Foster healthy relationships with Store Committees, community members and the Outback Store team;
- Manage all regional Management Agreement re-signs in conjunction with Area Managers;
- Build strong networks with community members at all levels;
- Work collaboratively with the Area Managers to achieve healthy and viable stores;
- Promote knowledge, understanding and respect for the Indigenous culture;
- Conduct in line with Outback Stores Values and Code of Conduct.
Operations
- In conjunction with the Area Manager oversee agreed retail operational objectives (KPI’s) including but not limited to sales, wages, expense control, stock control, financial reports and training and development
- Ensure the delivery of reports on profits, sales, wages, dissipation, recruitment, training and development initiatives;
- Implement and lead business standards and execution at store level;
- Recruit required Store Managers in line with headcount;
- Drive staff performance through implementing agreed initiatives and strategies in line with store operations;
- Ensure all Outback Stores policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, to protect Outback Stores reputation, regulatory requirements, property, profit and people;
- In conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer develop each stores budget and ensure stores profitability is achieved in line with the agreed budgets;
- Identify, develop and implement underpinning projects for region;
- Manage annual leave calendars for region;
- Effectively lead, train and develop staff to ensure optimum employee satisfaction and productivity;
- Support and ensure compliance to all legislative and regulatory compliance requirements for operations;
- Conduct WH&S reviews to ensure a healthy and safe place for all employee’s;
- Lead and promote food safety awareness and compliance within your region;
- Collaborate with Area Managers to organise local social events and initiatives for the store to deliver improved store profit, sales, cost management and customer service;
- Ensure performance and behaviour of area managers and store managers is aligned to OBS standards and performance management is conducted with integrity;
Policies & Procedures
- Comply with all Outback Stores operational policies and procedures;
- Ensure compliance at relevant stores of all Outback Stores operating policies and procedures inclusive of stock management, cash handling procedures, office administration, food handling and hygiene, WH&S and the nutrition policy;
- Carry out all duties in accordance with Outback Stores safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values, code of conduct business objectives;
