JOB SUMMARY
The Ladies Professional Golf Association is seeking an FM Championship Tournament Operations Intern to join our dynamic team in executing a world-class sporting event that aims to revive professional golf in New England. If you are looking to gain inside knowledge in event operations and apply your organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities, this role is perfect for you. As a Tournament Operations Intern, you will assist the Operations Director, collaborate with vendors, manage on-site storage and inventory, serve as a liaison to the Volunteer Services team, coordinate tournament communications, and fulfill additional assigned duties. This internship offers aspiring sports professionals the opportunity to lead important projects and gain valuable professional experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Operations Director to ensure first-class presentation for the operation of the event.
- Work with vendors and host venue to ensure on-site build outs and movement is on-time and in compliance with venue regulations.
- Management of on-site storage and inventory to ensure brand activities are activated at a first-class rate.
- Liaison to Volunteer Services team to ensure Tournament Volunteers are empowered to lead various committees in support of overall Tournament success.
- Coordination and management of Tournament communications logistics.
- Carry out additional assigned tasks and projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability and willingness to gain expertise and perform work in new areas.
- Proficient in written and oral communication to effectively coordinate and manage Tournament logistics.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently on multiple projects.
- Flexibility to assist with areas of the Tournament as needed.
- Collaborative nature, demonstrating enthusiasm for all tasks and projects.
- Excellent organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled as a college/graduate student. Recent grads will also be considered.
- Progress toward a degree, major, or minor relevant to the internship.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds.
- Available to work in Boston, Massachusetts from June 2 – September 1
