Job Description

Responsible for booking elective and urgent surgical procedures in coordination with physicians and Admitting. Prepares and types daily by the Scheduling Coordinator based on these bookings.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years college education with an associates degree strongly preferred. Candidate must have 2 years of experience working in a surgical practice or an operating room. In addition to scheduling surgeries, the position includes other duties such as obtaining insurance authorizations, following up with patients so they have all needed clearances and paperwork complete prior to the day of surgery, and working with the rest of the team so the practice operations are efficient. Position requires outstanding written and oral communication skills to ensure patients follow all pre-operative requirements and instructions before surgery

St. Joseph’s Health officially opened the Totowa Health Campus during a special ceremony that included a ribbon cutting and a blessing by the Most Reverend Kevin Sweeney, Bishop of the Diocese of Paterson. More than 100 people attended the event, including Congressman Bill Pascrell, 9th District of New Jersey; John Coiro, Mayor of Totowa; and Senator Kristen Corrado, of New Jersey’s 40th Legislative District.

The new campus, located at 225 Minnisink Road in Totowa, is a 140,000-square-foot facility that integrates a comprehensive listing of outpatient services, including primary and urgent care, diagnostic imaging including MRI and CT, Radiology, Lab Services and Pharmacy all under one roof. A host of medical and surgical physician offices are located on the campus, including cardiology, urology and gynecology, along with specialty Centers including Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy. This fall, the health campus will also be the new home of a Comprehensive Cancer Center opening in October.
