Department: Education Position: Assistant Professor, One-Year Temporary, in Mathematics Education Qualifications: The successful candidate must have… * A doctoral degree in mathematics education, mathematics, curriculum development, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is preferred; ABD near completion or Sixth Year Degree may be considered * At least three years teaching experience in elementary education and secondary mathematics; experience teaching either elementary education or secondary mathematics will be considered * Some experience teaching in higher education is preferred Position Description: Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education (both elementary and secondary) and other teacher certification courses as needed, and in undergraduate mathematics; supervision of teacher candidates in their clinical and student teaching experiences is also required. Candidates will be expected to advise students, participate in department committees, hold regular office hours, engage in scholarly and creative exercises in the Education or Mathematical Sciences Departments, and adhere to all other expectations of a full-time faculty member. All courses are taught in person on campus (no online instruction).
