Summary

Position Title: On-Site Quality Assurance Engineering Intern

Department: Quality Assurance

Location: Corporate Office Melbourne - on-site - this is not a remote position. Must be located in the Melbourne, FL area.

Reports to: QA Engineering Supervisor

Position Summary

The individual in this role will be an integral part of the quality of future products through usability and human factors testing as well as participating in root cause investigations on current products. The goal is to deliver superior medical device hardware and software products to our internal and external customers.

Essential Functions

  • Design and perform root cause investigations.
  • Perform inspections to demonstrate hardware meets acceptance criteria.
  • Document all issues and failures to communicate to the management team.
  • Become knowledgeable about the Medicomp Quality System Manual.
  • Conduct activities in accordance with FDA Design Controls.
  • Comply with FDA guidelines, standards, and business defined documentation processes to provide quality deliverables.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Education And Experience

  • You must be currently pursuing one of the following degrees as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior: Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or another STEM related field.
  • Assist in developing test plans and procedures for hardware and software.
  • Assist in test execution, test analysis, and troubleshooting for hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Android, Internet-based applications.
  • Be organized, able to take instructions, work in a time sensitive environment, and be able to solve problems independently or/and under limited supervision.
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker with technical background.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams with members of other engineering and non-engineering teams.
  • Able to work part time hours (20 hours/week) for at least 12 weeks.
  • Previous work experience outside the classroom.
  • Great written and verbal communications skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
