About The Role
Techno is seeking a detail-oriented
Office Engineer to join our project team on a high-profile project in Putnam and Westchester counties. This is an opportunity to to ensure that all documentation, scheduling, and administrative aspects of the project are managed efficiently and in accordance with agency standards.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate and document project kick-off, coordination, and progress meetings, ensuring clear communication between contractors, design teams, and stakeholders.
- Track and report on the contractor’s progress against the approved construction schedule, identifying and helping resolve delays or conflicts.
- Review and verify contractor payment applications, ensuring quantities and billing align with field performance and contractual agreements.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including correspondence, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes in both hard copy and digital formats.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets, estimates, scopes of work, and coordinate subcontractor documentation including insurance, invoicing, and billing workflows.
- Analyze construction documents—drawings, specifications, and layouts—to support accurate cost assessments using historical data and current labor, material, and equipment pricing.
- Support the construction team in developing preliminary and final cost estimates, and assist in reviewing change order proposals by preparing Independent Cost Estimates (ICEs).
- Collaborate with the RE and inspection team to verify as-built quantities, clarify contract requirements, and ensure consistent communication between field and office operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Office Engineer, preferably , with significant involvement in watermain or civil infrastructure construction projects.
- Familiarity with city infrastructure projects, including roadway and utility installations, preferably within the New York Metro area.
- Knowledge of NYSDOT or NYCDOT standards and procedures is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and eBuilder.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is {$87,500 - $148,500} per year. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
