Summary
Provides customer services to citizens conducting business with the Police Records Unit. This is a part-time position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists customers with open records requests
Accepts and logs payments for documents and services
Provides fingerprinting services
Provides local criminal history checks in compliance with state and federal regulations
Processes incoming office mail
Performs data entry into the police records management system
Prepares, files and maintains physical or electronic records and documents in required formats
Conducts data base searches
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
One (1) year of experience in customer service-related field
Ability to successfully pass a typing test with a minimum of 40 WPM
Pass extensive criminal background check and polygraph exam and evaluation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in law enforcement office
Familiar with law enforcement terminology
Licenses and Certifications
Able to obtain TLETS (Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System) TCIC/NCIC (Texas Crime Information Center/ National Crime Information Center) Terminal Operator certification within six (6) months of employment
