Position Summary
The Offensive Line Coach is responsible for the development, training, and performance of the offensive line unit. This role involves teaching fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies necessary for offensive linemen to excel in both running, blocking and pass protection. The coach will collaborate with the offensive coordinator and other members of the coaching staff to implement effective game plans and ensure cohesive offensive operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Player Development:
* Teach and reinforce fundamental techniques related to offensive line play, including stance, footwork, leverage, and blocking assignments.
* Create individualized development plans for each offensive lineman, focusing on their specific strengths and areas for improvement.
* Monitor player progress and adjust training techniques as necessary.
Game Preparation:
* Develop and implement practice plans that focus on offensive line drills and situational scenarios.
* Analyze game films to evaluate the performance of the offensive line, identifying areas for improvement and success.
* Assist in the preparation of game plans, including specific blocking schemes and protections tailored to the opponent's defense.
Performance Analysis:
* Utilize video analysis tools to dissect offensive line performance in practices and games.
* Track and analyze performance metrics to gauge effectiveness and identify areas for development.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with the offensive coordinator to integrate offensive line strategies into the overall offensive game plan.
* Collaborate with other positional coaches to ensure seamless communication and execution of blocking schemes.
Mentorship and Leadership:
* Foster a positive and competitive environment that encourages teamwork and individual growth among offensive linemen.
* Serve as a mentor and role model for players, promoting discipline, work ethic, and accountability.
Recruitment and Scouting:
* Assist in scouting and evaluating potential recruits for the offensive line position, providing insights into player potential and fit within the program.
Administrative Duties:
* Maintain accurate records of player performance and development.
* Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions regarding team strategy and player development.
Skillset:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong leadership abilities with a focus on motivating and inspiring players.
* Analytical mindset with a keen understanding of performance metrics and improvement strategies.
* Ability to work collaboratively with other coaching staff and players.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to participate in practice and training sessions, demonstrating techniques as needed.
* Capability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends during the season.
* Other duties as assigned
Education/ Experience
What you will need to be successful!
* Bachelor's degree in sports management, physical education, or a related field (preferred).
* At least 1 year of experience
* Previous coaching experience, particularly with offensive linemen at high school, college, or professional level.
* Strong understanding of offensive line techniques, strategies, and schemes.
