As a member of the Customer Success Services (CSS) organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate for customer needs. This involves managing and supporting customer environments in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and provide expert assistance to ensure the optimal performance, availability, and security of customer environments. Your responsibilities include resolving technical issues, performing system monitoring, and collaborating with internal teams to implement best practices. You will also engage with customers to understand their needs, provide training, and deliver exceptional customer service. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction. As a primary point of contact for customers, you are responsible for facilitating customer relationships with Support and providing advice and assistance to internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the development team on maintaining operational health of core compute services for API availability and low latency Managing and triaging tickets. Driving prioritization and execution of work based on impact.

Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms such as easy-to-use tooling and automation. Work in concert with service developers to evolve systems/products for better scalability, reliability and development velocity.

Drives new runbooks to help reduce mean triage time of incidents. Prioritize and automate high hit count runbooks.

Practice sustainable incident response and drive root case analysis.

Design comprehensive, end-to-end solutions on OCI that align with client requirements with specific to OCI infrastructure, networks, and applications. Ensure your designs prioritize scalability, reliability, security, and performance.

Customer Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business objectives, technical needs, and constraints.

Provide expert guidance on OCI’s capabilities and best practices to help them achieve their goals.

Technical Leadership: Lead the technical design and implementation of OCI solutions, providing direction and mentorship to technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Cloud Migration: Assess existing on-premises or cloud-based infrastructure and applications. Develop comprehensive migration strategies and execute plans to seamlessly transition them to OCI.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement IaC practices using tools like Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of OCI resources, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

Security and Compliance: Ensure OCI solutions meet industry-standard security and compliance requirements. Implement robust security controls, encryption, and access management measures.

Performance Optimization: Continuously identify opportunities to optimize OCI solutions for performance, cost, and resource utilization. Leverage native OCI services and features to achieve optimal results.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement effective monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions on OCI to proactively identify and address performance issues and security threats.

Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud performance, cost, and resource utilization. Implement best practices for cloud management and security.

Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing systems and workflows.

Support: Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex cloud-related issues and ensure smooth operations.

Innovation: Stay updated on the latest OCI features, tools, and industry trends. Recommend and implement improvements to leverage new capabilities.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience.

7+ years’ experience as a cloud engineer or a similar role

7+ years’ experience as a cloud network engineer

In-depth knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and capabilities a plus!

Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or other Cloud Service Provider

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform

Experience in cloud technical support, operations, NOC, or similar is preferred, but not required

Experience troubleshooting complex software and/or networking issues

Customer obsession, passion for delighting customers

Proven ability to quickly learn new technical domains and then train others

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Willingness to learn

Additional Desired Skillsets (A Plus)

Knowledge and experience with any of public cloud providers including Oracle, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure or Google (GCP) architecture, tools, and cloud methodologies

Solution Architect and/or Developer Certification on Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

  • 5 years experiace with Mysql database.

Responsibilities

As an Advisory Systems Engineer, you are expected to be an expert member of the problem-solving/avoidance team and be highly skilled in solving extremely complex (often previously unknown), critical customer issues. Performing the assigned duties with a high level of autonomy and reporting to management on customer status and technical matters on a regular basis, you will be expected to work with very limited guidance from management. Further, the Advisory Systems Engineer is sought by customers and Oracle employees to provide expert technical advice.
