Summary

F3 Advisory Limited, a subsidiary of the dynamic and diverse Famalco Group, is looking to hire an Occupational Health & Safety Manager. The main responsibility of this role is to lead the organization’s occupational health and safety systems.

The ideal candidate should either hold a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Malta or MCAST or be actively pursuing such a qualification.

The Occupational Health & Safety Manager will collaborate closely with the Safety Advisor to support the implementation and upkeep of effective safety protocols, policies, and practices within the organization.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Create, update, and enforce occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification: Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard identification to identify potential safety issues and recommend corrective actions. Carry out toolbox talks and discuss risk assessments at construction sites – Fill in a report of findings on each site visited.
  • Training and Development: Design, manage and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety standards, emergency procedures, and safe work practices. Hold induction training sessions for new recruits, in collaboration with HR.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with all applicable occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across various departments to assess compliance with safety standards and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Site inspections: Conducting on and off-premises inspections to ensure that company employees are working safely, within safe environments, and in accordance with relevant company policies. Visit construction sites.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring that employees are well-prepared for emergency situations such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, audits, and other safety-related activities, preparing reports for senior management as required. Populating and maintaining of safety equipment registers. Formulate & distribute minutes for the H&S committee meetings. Provide regular reports.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and employees to foster a culture of safety across the organization, ensuring that safety is prioritized in all operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, and apply this knowledge to continually improve the organization’s health and safety systems. 


Qualifications:


  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 3 years+ work experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Professional certifications in safety are considered an asset.
  • Meticulous in record keeping.
  • Able to conduct research.
  • General knowledge of yard management & construction activities is considered an asset.
  • Fluent in both Maltese and English languages.
  • Able to address groups of persons in both educational and public settings.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must already be residing in Malta and able to work with no visa restrictions.
