Job Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Performance Engineer with expertise in SQL/PLSQL query optimization, performance tuning, and the development of efficient PL/SQL stored procedures and functions to support data processing and calculations using best practices within the BI environment. This role focuses on enhancing report performance, optimizing SQL queries, and improving ETL processes for efficient data processing and reporting. The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in PL/SQL-based ETL development, database performance tuning and 2-4 years of BI Publisher, OAS RPD optimization. Familiarity with SQL Server is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Optimization & BI Reporting:

• Identify and resolve slow-performing reports, dashboards, and queries in OAS/OBIEE.
• Optimize BI Publisher reports, ensuring efficient layouts, pagination, and caching strategies for fast rendering.
• Enhance query efficiency by tuning OAS/OBIEE RPD metadata layers (Physical, Logical, and Presentation).
• Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL query optimization techniques, performance tuning, Develop and maintain efficient PL/SQL stored procedures and functions that support data processing and calculations using best practices within the BI environment.
• Monitor system performance metrics, including query response times, cache hit rates, and resource utilization.
  
  

PL/SQL-Based ETL Development & Optimization

• Develop and maintain efficient PL/SQL stored procedures for ETL processes.
• Optimize ETL workflows, ensuring high-performance data transformations and aggregations.
• Troubleshoot data loading and transformation issues, ensuring seamless data integration.
  
  

Database & RPD Management

• Manage the Oracle BI Repository (RPD), optimizing data models for reporting efficiency.
• Utilize query hints, materialized views, partitioning, and indexing to improve database performance.
• Deep understanding of query execution plans, indexing, joins, partitioning, and caching. Optimize performance by using query hints, materialized views, and caching strategies.
• Implement best practices in data modeling, Star Schema design, and caching strategies.
• Collaborate with DBAs, BI developers, and report analysts to improve overall performance.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

Strong expertise in PL/SQL-based ETL development and query optimization.

Experience with OAS/OBIEE RPD metadata management and performance tuning.

Ability to create BI Publisher reports with optimized layouts and data structures to ensure fast rendering times and analyze complex data sets and identify performance bottlenecks (Nice to have)

Familiarity with SQL Server query optimization. (Nice to have)

Deep understanding of query execution plans, indexing, joins, and partitioning.

Experience with cloud-based BI environments. (Nice to have)

Estimated Pay Range:
