Job Overview

M Health Fairview is looking for a Nutrition Services Aide at our Southdale location, in Edina, MN. This position is 40 hours bi-weekly, on day shift.

This is an entry-level position where you will be able to acquire experience and knowledge in a fast-paced team environment where customer service and food service skills are appreciated. Nutrition services staff directly influence the patient, guest, and staff experience by preparing and serving the food that sustains everyone through their healing or their work. There is phenomenal opportunity to engage directly with patients, medical staff, and to work together with a team of engaged employees. There are day, evening, and night shifts available where there are casual positions with no guaranteed hours all the way up to full-time hours.

About This Position

  • This position is responsible for safely preparing food and assembling & disassembling patient trays. Serves customers and delivers & retrieves patient trays along with other duties as assigned in the nutrition areas.
  • The position reports to five department managers (may also report to the general manager).
  • Approximately 75 employees in the department.


Location: Southdale Hospital, located in Edina, MN

Hours: 40 hours biweekly

Schedule: day/evening, with every other weekend dedication

Schedule

Week 1:

Monday shift: 6:45AM-3:15PM

Saturday shift: 6:45AM-3:15PM

Sunday shift: 6:45AM-3:15PM

Week 2

Monday shift: 7:00AM-3:30PM

Friday shift: 6:45AM-3:30PM

  • Prepares and portions food appropriately for designated area.
  • Delivers patient meal trays while adhering to HIPAA policy.
  • Plates and serves food.
  • Handles and stores food in a safe manner following HACCP standard operating procedures.
  • Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedures.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes and utensils.
  • Serves customers in cafeterias, doctor’s dining rooms and other non-patient locations.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service, adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.


Qualifications

Preferred education:

  • High school diploma/G.E.D


Desired Skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication.
  • Proficient in the English language.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to problem solve effectively.
