Duties/responsibilities may change from year to year or during the year subject to changes in the legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines governing the school meal programs, and as prescribed by Texas Department of Agriculture. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Institutional Management, Food Service, Business, Nutrition, Family and Consumer Science, Public Health, Education, or related field Three years successful experience in management of school or institutional food service operations preferred Prior experience as a Child Nutrition Director preferred Three years training experience with adults preferred Up to 50% travel required including out-of-town and other ESC regions Knowledge of federal nutrition programs MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES: Coordinate and sponsor regional trainings in all areas of program operations for Child Nutrition Program staff Provide training and technical assistance to Contracting Entities (CEs) Designs and implements systems for measuring the effectiveness of child nutrition programs and makes adjustments based on analysis of need Collaborate with other ESC regions to ensure equitable availability of training consultants across the state for all training events Collaborate with other regions to facilitate the implementation of statewide training Provides leadership in identifying needs, developing procedures, planning activities for implementation and assessment of services and activities Provides appropriate staff development for CEs in areas of program compliance, management, and nutrition Provides technical support to CEs designated for Administrative, Financial, and Procurement Reviews POSITION DETAILS: 12 month contract; Paygrade 2 Salary based on years of experience in related field Teacher Retirement System (TRS) Benefits Health Insurance Benefits Re-employment contingent upon funding and performance Position will remain open until filled Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person
