How You Make An Impact…
The Nuclear Engineering (NE) Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of nuclear engineers and health physicists. The NE manager develops and manages team and individual Key Performance Indications (KPIs), ensures succinct coordination, communication, and ultimate success with desired project outcomes and meeting company objectives.
What You Need To Succeed…

- Bachelor ‘s degree in nuclear engineering, health physics, or other related technical field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of direct nuclear engineering and health physics experience in Research/Development or Production/Manufacturing environments.
- 5+ years’ experience supervising day to day activities of other team members, providing mentoring, and career development coaching.
- Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization – appreciates the history of current state, know how and when to make suggestions, as well as using just the right pace to reach the improved future state.
- Understands your own communication and learning styles, can assess others’ styles, and is able to find the right path to connect the two.
Great to have…
- Master’s degree or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, or related technical field
- 3+ years leading teams in the R&D environment. Proven record of successful launch of product developments and success solving complex nuclear problems.
- 3+ years working within Quality Management Systems and design control processes in regulated industries such as Medical or Nuclear (DOE or NRC regulated).
- 3+ years working directly with customers and commercial teams to identify project opportunities and building statements of work, quotes, or other requirements documentation.
Other Things To Know…
- Full-time position.
- The company’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6a – 6p with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts.
This position will have regular working hours during M – F with an expectation of adjusting to meeting the shift work requirements for production and to meet with staff working outside of the standards operating hours as needed.
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area. Travel between locations is expected in the role.
