At Serve Robotics, we're reimagining how things move in cities. Our personable sidewalk robot is our vision for the future. It's designed to take deliveries away from congested streets, make deliveries available to more people, and benefit local businesses.
The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles while doing commercial deliveries. We're looking for talented individuals who will grow robotic deliveries from surprising novelty to efficient ubiquity.
Who We Are
We are tech industry veterans in software, hardware, and design who are pooling our skills to build the future we want to live in. We are solving real-world problems leveraging robotics, machine learning and computer vision, among other disciplines, with a mindful eye towards the end-to-end user experience. Our team is agile, diverse, and driven. We believe that the best way to solve complicated dynamic problems is collaboratively and respectfully.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to drive the seamless transition of products from manufacturing ramp into sustained operations. This role serves as a key bridge between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams, ensuring that new products are production-ready, scalable, and supported by robust documentation and processes.
Responsibilities
* Lead the handoff of products from pilot or low-volume production into full-scale, steady-state operations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations) to ensure smooth product launches and handovers.
* Develop and refine production process documentation (e.g., work instructions, process flows, control plans) to support ongoing operations.
* Validate that manufacturing lines are stable, repeatable, and capable of meeting operational KPIs (yield, throughput, uptime).
* Identify and resolve any outstanding DFM/DFA issues prior to operational transfer.
* Ensure all necessary training, tooling, and equipment are in place for operations teams.
* Support cost-down initiatives, process optimization, and quality improvements during early production.
* Serve as the technical point of contact for operations during the transition window, providing guidance on product and process details.
* Drive lessons learned from new product ramps to inform future programs.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
* 3+ years of experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, or Sustaining Engineering.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational requirements.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturers.
* Proficiency in process documentation and troubleshooting production issues.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
