Position: Senior Software Engineer - Cloud expert

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer who can design and build robust, API-based actuarial applications on a cloud platform. You will play a key role in the development of innovative internal solutions that modernize legacy systems and drive business transformation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your technical leadership will create real impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-first, API-based web applications from concept to deployment
• Tackle complex challenges and drive creative solutions in ambiguous environments
• Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams, translating technical concepts clearly
• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable API systems
• Maintain high-quality, well-tested code and promote continuous improvement
• Mentor junior team members and influence key architectural decisions
• Support legacy systems during migration to modern platforms
• Contribute to team growth via knowledge sharing and mentoring
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Expertise in full-stack development, including frontend frameworks and databases
• Proficiency in Node.js and modern programming languages
• Experience with AWS services (Step Functions, Batch, Lambdas, ECS)
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform), CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitHub Actions)
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker/Linux, ECS/Fargate)
• Experience in data engineering
• Solid foundation in Test-Driven Development
• Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  
  

Nice To Have

• Experience with DBT/Qlik Replication and Snowflake
• Knowledge of C#, .NET (Core & Framework), Angular, Groovy, Python, Shell Scripting
• Insurance or reinsurance industry experience
• Advanced knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
