We are looking for a Tier 2 OSS Engineer to join our operations team, ensuring that our OSS (Operations Support Systems) platform and related applications are maintained, monitored, and optimized. You will handle escalations from Tier 1, troubleshoot more complex issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for swift resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Incident & Escalation Management: Receive and resolve OSS-related incidents escalated from Tier 1, following documented processes and meeting service-level agreements (SLAs).
Platform Monitoring & Maintenance: Continuously monitor the health and performance of OSS applications (TeMIP, FAS, UCA, UOC, etc.) and take corrective/preventative actions.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Perform in-depth investigations of technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions or workarounds.
Configuration & Optimization: Assist in configuring OSS tools, applying patches/updates, and optimizing performance to support network operations.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Maintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions, and best practices. Share knowledge with Tier 1 teams to improve first-level handling.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with NOC, SOC, and engineering teams to coordinate on major incidents, upgrades, and cross-functional projects.
Preferred Skills & Tools Experience
You should have hands-on experience with at least a few of the following OSS applications and solutions:
TeMIP (HPE Telecommunications Management Information Platform): Fault and event management in telecommunications networks.
FAS (HPE Fault Analytics & Statistics): Data-driven analytics for proactive fault detection and capacity planning.
UCA (HPE Unified Correlation Analyzer) & UOC (HPE Unified OSS Console): Event correlation and unified console for consolidated network management.
ESP (Aruba Edge Services Platform) + IPmediation: Aruba’s edge platform for unified infrastructure and IP data mediation.
UTM + TrueView: Unified threat management and integrated visibility for network performance/security.
Optigo: Monitoring and management solution for IoT/industrial or building automation contexts.
BasicOSS: Foundational OSS platform for provisioning, fault management, and performance monitoring.
Qualifications
4 years of relevant experience in a telecom/IT operations, Tier 2 support, or OSS engineering role.
ITIL V3 certification (required)
Strong analytical skills to identify, isolate, and troubleshoot complex OSS issues.
Solid understanding of network topologies (LAN, WAN, wireless) and basic IP networking concepts.
Excellent communication skills for cross-team coordination and customer-facing incident updates.
