Role Requirements:
A University Degree in a related Mechanical Engineering program from an accredited Canadian University is required.
Registered EIT or new Graduate.
P&ID and Piping experience is asset.
Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, along with knowledge of engineering piping software.
Familiarity with AutoCAD is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work in a team environment with Plant leads and Sales Director.
Demonstrated ability to keep organized and prioritize various projects and tasks.
Emphasis on high-quality work and output.
Role Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
Execute document reviews, engineering calculations, and engineering design work.
Produce application-specific P&ID for tailing Hydro and underflow lines for the Oil Sands Properties.
Knowledge of process piping, pipe stress and their engineering calculations is an asset.
Demonstrate knowledge of materials or operations as appropriate, project and product design constraints, design to best fit the purpose or service intended and address inter-disciplinary impacts.
Participate in reviews and oversee the technical aspects of drawing production.
Development and oversight of Bill of Materials.
Manage RFIs and document control.
Support fabrication of Issued for Construction work packages as required.
Support quality control manager with ABSA and CWB construction regulation requirements.
Design Oversight
Guide and complete a technical design according to standardized design and drafting procedures.
Applies engineering / technical knowledge to design challenges, including active participation in design.
Development of internal engineering specification for product design.
Professional Practice
Demonstrates professional integrity and accountability.
Proven knowledge of regulations, codes, standards, and safety including local engineering procedures and practices.
Analyzes technical risks and offers mitigation solutions.
Proven understanding of the safeguards required to protect the public and the methods of mitigating adverse impacts.
Understands the role of regulatory bodies on the practice of engineering.
