Role Overview: New Business Sales Representative - Financial Data & Analytics Firm

A leading financial data and analytics firm is hiring a New Business Sales Representative to focus on expanding its footprint within the Buy-Side segment, including hedge funds, asset managers, and institutional investors. This role will center on building relationships with key decision-makers, uncovering client needs, and aligning the firm's data solutions to support their growth and operational strategies. You'll conduct targeted needs assessments, lead tailored presentations, and drive end-to-end sales efforts to bring in new clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Source and close new business opportunities with Buy-Side firms

  • Needs Assessment and Solution Positioning: Understand client objectives and challenges to recommend relevant data and analytics solutions

  • Sales Process Management: Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth lead handoffs and an efficient sales process

  • Target Achievement: Manage and maintain a strong sales pipeline, with a focus on meeting growth targets

  • CRM Management: Utilize Salesforce to track outreach, deal progress, and support overall forecasting and reporting efforts

Experience and Skills:

  • B2B Sales Experience: Strong experience in B2B sales within financial data, SaaS, or institutional services

  • Buy-Side Experience: Familiarity with the needs and workflows of Buy-Side institutions, including use cases around analytics, risk, and execution

  • Financial Data and Analytics: Exposure to financial data products, trading technology, or market infrastructure tools

  • Sales Skills: Proven ability to build rapport with clients and close complex sales cycles

  • CRM Proficiency: Proficiency with Salesforce or similar platforms

Location and Flexibility: Based in New York, with remote working options available for the right candidate.​
