Network Test Automation Engineer (Layer 3 Switch) - B2B/Contract

We are looking for an expert-level Network Engineer/Test Enginer for a high-impact project. Initially planned for a few months, this role has the potential to transition into a long-term collaboration due to multiple upcoming projects.

The Role:
The engineer will be responsible for designing and executing test cases for a Layer 3 switch under development. The focus is on practical, real-world scenarios to ensure the product performs reliably in production environments. In addition to defining and automating test cases, this role includes developingcost- efective performance testing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
•Develop a structured list of test cases covering features of the device under test (DUT), with an emphasis on real-life network use cases.
•Build a flexible, automated testbed that can be integrated into the development workflow.
•Design and optimize performance test cases that ensure cost-effective validation while maintaining test accuracy.
•Collaborate with developers and network engineers to improve test coverage and earty defect detection.

Must-Have Qualifications:
•Extensive hands-on experience in test engineering and network administration.
• Strong knowedge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, S-HS, STP, MPLS, etc.).
•Practical experience in network test automation using tools.
•Strong understanding of QoS, security, and high-performance networking.
•Fluent English.

Good to Have:
•Prior experience with IXIA/Keysight, Spirent, or similar hardware for network testing.
•Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of FRRouting (FRR), Zebra, or similar routing software.

Contract Details:
•Cooperation model: B2B or Contract (Fixed-Price or Hourly).
•Remote work.
•Occasional travels may be required (e.g. Team meetings once a month or so) and covered.
•Expected project duration 3-6 months, depending on volume of work. Potential for long-lerm collaboration based on future project pipeline.
•The Candidate has to be EU-based.

We are looking for a highly skaled, hands-on engineer who understands not just theoretical networking concepts but also their practical application in real-world deployments.
