Summary

To monitor the daily activities of the system control room, including monitoring and operating the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, receiving and dispatching trouble calls, assisting trouble crews in fault isolation, and restoration of service by utilizing Distribution Automation equipment. Prepare, review, and implement switching orders to safely and efficiently restore system outages.System operation – To be able to prepare and perform switching thru SCADA, including monitoring and evaluating procedures as they are implemented to insure proper loading and voltage levels are maintained. To be able to evaluate automated system configurations that may occur in the field by/with Intelligent Automated System Distribution equipment or IED’s. Be familiar with the operating limits, purpose, and location of such devices. Need’s a high degree of knowledge on system feeder location, directions, and ties to perform proper, accurate, and safe switching procedures during daily work, as well as during times of multiple outages or distribution feeder damage.System monitoring – To be able to monitor changing conditions within the entire distribution system to insure loading and voltage parameters are maintained, providing power quality for consumers and maximizing system equipment capabilities. Be able to utilize all system monitoring features thru SCADA, Enternetview, etc, to be able to forecast problems before they reach critical levels.
