Summary

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: DCC is currently seeking a full-time, experienced Control Technician for the gondola system at Sterling Vineyards in Calistoga, California. The Ropeway Control Technician is responsible for monitoring the Sterling Vineyards gondola system. The position involves performing troubleshooting, such as identifying alarms and resetting faults. The Ropeway Control Technician will be responsible for corrective action, safety verification, and restarting the system after in-service stops. Weekend and holiday work may be required. RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows all Company and Client-issued operational protocols to ensure safety of all passengers, co-workers, and general public. Follows established emergency operation procedures. Regularly participates in training and drills to ensure operational readiness. Follows lock out tag out policy according to procedure. Performs troubleshooting using the system control and supervision system computers according to training provided. Takes appropriate actions to manually control operation of the system to minimize passenger disruption when service is interrupted according to training provided. Collects and enters data into operational logs and reports. Regularly records operational data into operations database using computer. Periodically supports maintenance and cleaning of the Conveyance System. REQUIREMENTS: Preferred two (2) years' experience in transit operations, similar process operations control and supervision. Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet. Ability to perform passenger rope rescue special operations. Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of communicating effectively using a variety of communication equipment (e.g., public address system, two-way radios, and emergency telephones). Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of methods used to detect unusual, hazardous, or emergency situations and of taking appropriate action within prescribed procedures. Experience in dealing with individuals from various socio-economic groups (including the disabled) in a tactful, calm, and confident manner under both routine and emergency circumstances. QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to quickly react and respond to various abnormal and emergency situations and follow prescribed procedures while under pressure. Ability to record information and complete forms and reports clearly and accurately. Ability to learn, understand and consistently follow established policies and procedures during normal, abnormal, or emergency situations. Computer literate and proficient. Ability to effectively communicate in English.
