This is skilled journeyman work in maintenance, construction, and repair of City wastewater collection system mains and appurtenances using television and various other technical equipment. Work is performed under general direction of the Collection System Foreman & the Utilities Superintendent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists in the operation of T.V. camera for the internal inspection of sewer and storm drain pipes.
Assists in the operation of technical monitoring equipment used in T.V. camera inspection process.
Assists in the maintenance and repair of list stations.
Conducts dye and smoke tests of sewer lines and prepares related field reports and cleaning of sewer lines.
Performs maintenance and some minor repair on the T.V. equipment and electronic components of monitoring equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the materials, methods, practices and equipment used in the construction, maintenance and repair of sanitary sewer collection systems and televising of sewer and storm drain systems.
Knowledge of confined space entry requirements.
Knowledge in the use of standard office machines, computers, and communications equipment.
Ability to deal effectively and courteously with City officials and the general public.
Ability to read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
Ability to estimate amounts of materials, equipment and personnel required for maintenance and construction of current and future projects
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Good health and physical condition to permit walking all day under varying weather conditions.
One (1) year experience in sewer line construction and maintenance.
Valid State of Florida CDL Class B or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
Basic computer knowledge preferred.
Class B Collection Certification preferred or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for certain minimum qualification requirements.
