General Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Manager, Information Technology, the Network Systems Administrator (NSA) will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and optimization of Infinite Legacy’s computer networks ensuring they function efficiently and securely. The NSA will plan, install, maintain and troubleshoot IL computer networks, ensuring their reliable and secure operation, including configuring hardware and software, implementing security measures and providing technical support. The NSA will design, implement and manage Microsoft Intune. The NSA will oversee installation/configuration/implementation, security and operations of all routers, firewalls and switches. The NSA will maintain adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software to maximize efficiency and security of the network and utilization of it. Additional responsibilities include planning, customer support, communication and documentation, especially related to the network systems’ hardware/software and participating as a member or technical lead on project teams.
Position may require travel to Infinite Legacy’s regional offices.
Education And Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Certifications, CCNA and CCNP.
- Extensive knowledge of desktop and server operating systems, primarily Windows and Windows server management and administration.
- Experience configuring and maintaining switches, routers and firewalls.
- Experience with designing, implementing and managing Microsoft Intune.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Microsoft Intune Administration.
- Install, configure and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
- Adept at conducting research into software/hardware-related issues and products.
- Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies towards organization’s IT and organizational goals.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to travel to Infinite Legacy’s regional offices.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage a wide range of enterprise services and systems including antivirus management, Azure, certificate management, desktop engineering, DNS, encryption, file servers, Microsoft 365, patch management, print servers, proxy services, scripting and automation, server monitoring, SQL Server and Reporting Services, virtual desktop infrastructure, Windows servers and clusters, and web servers, in addition to other technical services and systems, including hardware and equipment and LAN devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
- Administration aspects include but are not limited to installation, maintenance, backups, upgrades, security maintenance, performance monitoring and planning related to the management of the services.
- Effectively work with departmental team members to guide the strategy, systems roadmap and related Network projects.
- Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of new technologies and industry trends.
- Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Work collaboratively with IT team members for day-to-day desktop maintenance and troubleshooting, including sharing on-call technical support duties.
- Maintain and manage VMware infrastructure and storage area network.
- Creates and maintains technical clear documentation of systems, networks, projects and outcomes.
- All other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
This position requires consistent availability, travel and certain physical, language and communication abilities, including:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate telephones and computers.
- Occasional work in a cabling environment.
- Lifting and transporting of objects up to 100 pounds.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other devices and objects.
- Vision correctable to 20/20 to read electronic medical charts and computer screens. Frequent and prolonged use of CRT screen may produce visual fatigue.
- Possible mental fatigue and stress associated with emergencies and management issues.
- Ability to accurately communicate, converse and exchange information in English over the telephone and in person.
- Computer literacy in a Microsoft Windows environment and demonstrated competency in the use of Microsoft Office software programs.
This is a level 3 Blood-borne Pathogen Exposure position. Employees have low to no exposure to Blood-borne Pathogens and no exposure to TB. Employees do not visit hospitals.
