Role
Plans, manages and oversees network security controls and respective systems and programs to optimize the organization's infrastructure. Leads the effort in gathering, analyzing, synthesizing, planning, and integrating new or updating existing security solutions. Apply thorough understanding of policies and technology in network applications, systems, and services and reinforce best practices. Uses metrics to monitor and report on the effectiveness of security controls and compliance with security policies. Stays abreast of new trends, laws, regulations, and innovations relative to network security. Evaluates new and emerging technology to apply to security solutions in the context of organizational needs.
Knowledge And Skills
Experience Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills 1. Previous Information Systems Technology experience including networks, PCs, data communications, mainframe and PC programming, data organization, voice and video systems, data back-up, security, electrical power protection, strategic and business planning, systems engineering and design.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols, security standards, and best practices; proficiency in setting up and securing cloud environment
- Proven experience in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Technical planning and project management skills.
- Strong communications skills - listening, written, verbal and presentation.
- Demonstrated follow-through, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCNA, CCNP, or similar.
