Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Security Architect in Alpharetta, GA. Summary: This role is responsible for defining, leading, and promoting the principles, standards, and design patterns that ensure secure products and enterprise tools across all multi-cloud and on-premises environments. This role specifically focuses on network security for global networks supporting all users, products, and internal enterprise systems. Other cybersecurity architecture peers specialize in application security, multi-cloud infrastructure, and SaaS environments. The ideal candidate will influence cross-functional teams, helping to establish and enforce cybersecurity architectural guidelines. Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, define, and influence cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and technical guardrails
  • Develop secure design patterns in collaboration with product and enterprise architecture teams for adoption by engineering groups
  • Serve as the cybersecurity lead for major projects and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and risk mitigation
  • Partner with business and technical teams to define network-focused cybersecurity guardrails that streamline secure development and deployment
  • Participate in security events and incident investigations, recommending design improvements to address root causes and prevent recurrence
  • Educate and mentor architects and engineers on network security best practices
  • Work closely with cybersecurity peers to integrate vulnerability management, GRC (governance, risk, and compliance), cyber defense, identity governance, and continuous control monitoring into cohesive cybersecurity standards
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure network security architecture meets regulatory and contractual requirements

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of specialized experience in cybersecurity, particularly network security
  • Strong hands-on experience securing cloud and on-premises networks
  • Practical experience implementing zero trust architectures, direct cloud connections (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute), and network designs (e.g., DMZ architectures)
  • Experience in Agile environments and in implementing change initiatives within Fortune 1000 organizations
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27000, NIST, FFIEC) and compliance standards (GDPR, GLBA, FFIEC)
  • Expertise with tools for URL filtering, IDS/IPS, DDoS prevention, software-defined networking, firewalls, WAFs, routers, and authentication for network devices
  • Strong strategic decision-making skills with the ability to guide complex cybersecurity programs
  • Excellent communication skills - customer-focused writing and executive presentation capabilities
  • Ability to articulate cybersecurity strategies and policies to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, AWS, Azure, CISM, or CISA
  • Strong experience developing security best practices across all layers of the hosting and application stack
  • Hands-on experience implementing cloud enterprise solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Expertise in modern cybersecurity architectures, including Zero Trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, virtualization, and containerization
  • Deep technical background securing multi-cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Background in application security, SaaS security, and DevSecOps methodologies
  • Knowledge of IAM, cryptography, secrets management, and secure authentication protocols (MFA, SAML, OAuth, OIDC)
  • Familiarity with coding frameworks and technologies like Python, .NET, Java, Spring, serverless platforms, and user authentication mechanisms
  • Deep understanding of cloud container and serverless ecosystems (EKS, ECS, Lambda, Fargate)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
