Network Security Administrator

Reports To: Vice President Systems

POSITION STATUS: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall sound network infrastructure of the bank, by performing design, development, implementation and support of key network security technologies across all different platforms of the business. Provides strong knowledge of latest infrastructure technologies to create a secure, reliable and sustainable network environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the design, development, of information security infrastructure that encompasses Internet sites, application services, WAN and LAN.
• Manages investigations involving misuse of computing and communication sources including but not limited to misuse of Internet and theft of confidential information; participates and cooperates with related audits and activities/initiatives.
• Designs, develops, evaluates and integrates computer systems and networks to maintain system security.
• Analyzes implements and responds to requests involving changes to corporate computer-based resources.
• Analyzes new hardware to determine its need or application in the existing or proposed system.
• Establishes security guidelines for the implementation of new application(s) designs and major modifications prior to implementation.
• Investigates any actual potential information security violations and recommends appropriate actions.
• Utilizes encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies and information technology security research.
• Defines security architecture direction for application developers to make sure their developed applications comply with security policies.
• Understand the company's technology direction and continually evolves security policies and practices applicable to technology changes.
• Support to the Local Area Network.
• Evaluate and recommend computer and communications equipment and maintenance services provided by vendors.
• Performs routine and general troubleshooting of computer systems.
• Provide Capacity planning analysis for hardware infrastructure, to determine current and future needs.
• Supports and maintain platforms on the Contingency Environment.
• Install, set up and provide hardware and software maintenance of computer equipment; administer and apply required upgrades on computer software and hardware.
• Monitor and maintain firewalls infrastructure.
• Analyze, design, and implement SAN and backup infrastructure architecture that ensure high levels of data quality and availability.
• Establish standards, policies and procedures as they apply to the use of the data protection and SAN technologies.
• Review daily reports on the status of backup jobs and providing management with dashboards that provide visibility in the overall operation and performance of the SAN and backup environment.
• Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, performance, monitoring and design administration and architecture of Veeam backup solution.
• Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, performance, monitoring and design capacity planning, documentation, administration and architecture of VMware, vSphere & vCenter management environment.
• Provide support-documentation for Internal Audits and Federal Examinations.
• Perform all additional tasks as assigned by company management.
• Perform other duties as required / assigned for this position.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Thorough understanding of security issues pertaining to information, computer and network resources.
• Understanding of information security technologies and products and their practical applications.
• Mastery of Information security technologies and products and their practical applications.
• Four to six years related experience or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of computer operating systems and networking technologies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to do Systems and Network hardening.
• Deep understanding of how network routers and switches work.
• Evaluate and design systems and network architectures.
• Keep a current understanding of vulnerabilities from the Internet.
• Recommend and set the technical direction for managing security incidents.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or applicable major field of study required or equivalent experience.
