A NOC Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the stability and functionality of a company’s network infrastructure. They are responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network systems, identifying and resolving issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the uninterrupted operation of network services.
Responsibilities
Performs troubleshooting and monitoring 24/7 of data circuit utilizations, alarms, outages, network quality issues, support tickets from the operations.
Identifies root cause of recurring outages or issues and recommends appropriate corrective actions.
Escalates outages and network-related service impacting issues to SME groups and vendors.
Performs tier 1-2 network infrastructure support and maintenance operations, troubleshoots layer 1-3 issues.
Administrates and maintains the corporate LAN and WAN
Performs network devices configurations and validates network related devices on a daily basis.
Work with other IT operations and support teams to resolve incidents and ensure timely resolution.
Utilizes network monitoring tools and network remote tools to check, monitor and troubleshoot network devices.
Performs implementation, commissioning and decommissioning of devices from the network operations perspective.
Maintains accurate records and timely reports on equipment operation and ensures issues are resolved and completed within SLA.
Performs and prioritizes tasks, activities and projects given by the immediate superior and department head based on the business needs.
Qualifications:
CCNA certification or equivalent network certifications/trainings
Graduate of IT, Computer Engineering, ECE or any IT-related course
At least 1-2 years working experience in the related field.
Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki configuration and administration experience
Strong switching and routing experience
Strong understanding of VLANs, DNS, NAT, DHCP, MAC address table, DIA, MPLS, IPSEC, VPN
Intermediate to advance network diagnosis and troubleshooting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, able to assess and prioritize incidents while under pressure.
Capability to multitask.
Availability to work on shifting schedule; 24/7 support, on-site/remote support as needed by the operations.
