This investment will scale Vault's SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australia's strategic national security demands. Vault is now positioned to not only strengthen its existing relationships with federal and state government agencies, but also strengthen its relationships with private sector businesses requiring secure cloud storage.To support this growth, we are bolstering our capability by adding numerous key roles that are integral to our future success. Due to Vault’s ongoing growth and commitment to delivering secure cloud solutions, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Network Operations Engineer to join the Operations team. In this role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and enhancement of network infrastructure supporting critical cloud environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced network solutions in highly classified settings of national importance. Based in our Canberra office, this position provides a unique opportunity to support Australia's cyber defense initiatives in the digital domain.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing and maintaining network infrastructure for Vault Cloud’s critical and government-classified cloud regions.
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting advanced network solutions in secure environments.
  • Acting as a second-level escalation point for complex incidents and service requests.
  • Maintaining and improving Infrastructure as Code (IaC) assets within Vault Cloud’s CI/CD pipeline.
  • Creating and managing change requests, technical documentation, and network records.
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives within Vault Cloud’s operations.


To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with:

  • The scope of this role requires an Australian Government Security Clearance; therefore, applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
  • Strong experience in network operations, particularly in classified environments.
  • Familiarity with ITILv4 and service management frameworks.
  • Hands-on expertise in infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to work in high-stakes environments with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to participate in a 24/7 roster using enterprise service management tools.
  • Experience in service operations, including incident, service request, and change management.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+ (or similar).
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and drive solutions effectively.
  • Functional knowledge of Australian Government ICT, Cyber, and Security frameworks (PSPF, ISM).
