📣 Network Operations Engineer – 12-Month Contract | €400/Day | B2B | Remote with Some On-Site (Budapest)

Our client, a leading Chemical Business, is seeking an experienced Network Operations Engineer to join their team on an initial 12-month contract. This role plays a key part in reducing dependency on corporate IT by delivering robust, real-time support for their Budapest site.

🛠️ Role Overview

As the primary technical contact on the ground, you'll provide hands-on network support across multiple environments.

The position is primarily remote, but with occasional on-site responsibilities in Budapest.

💶 Rate: €400 per day

📅 Duration: 12 months

📍 Location: Remote (with on-site presence in Budapest as required)

📜 Contract Type: B2B

🔑 Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily hands-on support for network components at the Budapest site.
• Maintain and monitor secure data flows between control, lab, and DMZ networks.
• Execute network changes (e.g., switch replacements, port configurations).
• Support ongoing network upgrades, including ring topology implementation.
• Act as the go-to contact for network issues during business hours.
• Help deploy/manage security appliances and enforce access controls, particularly in OT environments.

✅ Must-Have Skills:

• 3–5 years' experience in a networking support role.
• Strong practical experience with Cisco networking equipment and protocols.
• Experience with Network Access Control (NAC).
• Proven track record of troubleshooting and managing network infrastructure in Operational Technology (OT) settings.
• Able to work autonomously and manage site-level networking without direct corporate oversight.

🌟 Nice-to-Have:

• Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls.
• Experience with LAN infrastructure design/support.
• Exposure to VMware environments.
