Structured has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer (Managed Services) in North Carolina that is responsible for assisting customers and other Structured team members by acting as an escalation point for Network and security related communications and service requests, as well as coordinating information and the troubleshooting processes. You will additionally be responsible for configuring various systems and appliances for customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primarily focused on assisting with the troubleshooting of various network and security alerts, service requests or incidents for both customers and internal operations in accordance with Structured’s service level agreements.
Acts as the first line for incoming customer communications, when required.
Acts as a primary escalation point for Helpdesk and System Engineers (Tier II) in remediating service requests and incidents, for both customers and internal operations.
Designs LAN, WAN and Security architecture for customers as required.
Participates in a weeklong, overnight on-call rotation that occurs throughout the year with other members of Structured’s Managed Services team.
Coordinates with other Managed Services team members, Account Executives, and members of the Service Desk to ensure service is provided in accordance with Structured’s service level agreements and client expectations.
Coordinates with other Managed Services team members, Account Executives and Customer contacts to identify recurring problems, make suggestions for future state designs and provide documentation to educate the sales and support process.
Develops and maintains detailed customer documentation and standard operating procedures.
Follows the current policies and procedures for tracking activities in Structured’s CRM and ticketing tools.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in information systems or equivalent plus 2 years’ experience; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Managed Services.
Expertise in physical networking media, interfaces, and connectors. Knowledge of cabling standards, optical fiber technology, and troubleshooting physical connectivity.
Proficiency in VLANs, STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), Ethernet technologies, and layer 2 security.
Expertise in IP addressing and subnetting.
Expertise in switch configuration, QoS, PoE.
Familiarity with Fortinet, Juniper Networks, Cisco, Aruba Networking, Palo Alto Networks etc. Preferred certifications include CCNA, JNCIA or equivalent.
Knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and security protocols. Understanding of security best practices.
Experience with SD-WAN, WAN optimization, and remote access solutions.
Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
Experience in tools like Auvik, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
Experience with change control and change management, documentation, and process automation.
Experience with cloud networking in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
Skills in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell are desirable.
General Office Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be an experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) tool, such as the Salesforce.com.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quotes and reports. Ability to correspond, effectively present information, and respond to questions from employees, management, vendors, and customers.

Work is performed in both a general office environment, as well as a data center environment. Within the general office environment, both the lighting and temperature are generally moderate. Must have a valid driver’s License and motor vehicle insurance (at least equal to the state’s minimum coverage requirements), as well as have the ability to travel to client locations and other destinations for short to medium term projects. This position may require an adjusted work schedule and evening hours in order to meet or attend vendor/customer needs. Flexibility to field phone calls, pager or system alerts and provide remote or on-site support to clients outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
