As an IC2 Network Engineer based in Santa Clara, you'll be part of the small, high-impact team that keeps that foundation secure, performant, and ready for tomorrow's growth. This is a hybrid position with onsite presence in Santa Clara two to three days per week for hands-on work with network hardware, cabling, and vendor engagements, with remote work for the remaining days. As a Network Engineer you will: * Build & improve - Design, deploy, and tune Layer 2/3 networks (Arista, Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto) across data-center, lab, and office environments. * Operate at scale - Maintain high-capacity links (10 GbE - 100 GbE), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and firewall policies to meet strict latency and uptime targets. * Automate first - Use Ansible, Python, or Terraform to turn repetitive tasks into reproducible playbooks and CI/CD pipelines. * Incident first-responder - Tri-level troubleshooting (physical, logical, cloud edge) for P1/P2 events; rotate in a 24×7 on-call schedule. * Document & share - Keep diagrams, runbooks, and change records current so the wider Ops and SRE teams can move quickly. * Security mindset - Partner with InfoSec to harden configs, manage certs/keys, and remediate vulnerabilities with switch upgrades. * Difference between cables/ fibers and different connector types.
