Job Title: ACI Network Engineer

Location: Rosemead, California Hybrid

Work Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite 2 days a week)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled ACI Network Engineer to join our team in Rosemead, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and the Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC), particularly in operating and supporting ACI fabrics. While routing and switching knowledge is essential, this role places a heavier emphasis on ACI design, implementation, day-to-day operations, and support activities, including automation and integration with firewalls and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ACI Engineering and Operations: Lead the design, implementation, and support of Cisco ACI solutions, with a strong emphasis on daily operations and troubleshooting of the ACI fabric using APIC. Ensure stability and performance of the ACI environment by managing policies, tenants, contracts, and endpoint groups.
  • APIC Administration: Operate, monitor, and support Cisco APIC controllers, ensuring effective policy enforcement, fault resolution, and fabric health.
  • Routing and Switching (Supportive Role): Maintain and optimize traditional Layer 2/Layer 3 network configurations as required, but with ACI as the central focus.
  • Firewall Integration: Collaborate with onsite firewall personnel to integrate Layer 4–7 services with ACI fabrics and assist in service graph deployments.
  • Automation and Runbooks: Develop scripts and runbooks for automating ACI operational tasks and troubleshooting procedures. Preferably use Terraform and REST APIs.
  • Topology Mapping: Assist in visualizing the ACI topology using tools like the Broadcom Spectrum Topology Management Suite.

Qualifications:

  • Cisco ACI Expertise: Demonstrated ability to operate and support Cisco ACI fabrics, including hands-on experience with APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller) for day-to-day management, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • ACI Policy & Fabric Management: Strong understanding of ACI constructs such as tenants, application profiles, bridge domains, endpoint groups (EPGs), contracts, and service graphs.
  • Operational Experience: Proven ability to perform operational tasks such as monitoring health scores, fault resolution, firmware upgrades, and fabric maintenance within ACI environments.
  • Network Protocols: Solid grasp of core networking protocols and concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VRFs), though secondary to ACI proficiency.
  • Automation & Scripting: Experience automating ACI tasks using scripting languages (Python, REST API) or Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Certifications: Cisco certifications such as CCNP Data Center or CCIE Data Center are highly desirable.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with firewall, security, and monitoring teams in an integrated enterprise environment.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Broadcom Spectrum or similar tools for topology visualization and network management.

Preferred Skills:

  • Broadcom Spectrum Experience: familiarity with the Broadcom Spectrum Topology Management Suite for network topology mapping and management.
  • Automation Tools: experience with network automation tools and scripting languages to enhance operational efficiency.
