We're supporting a locally headquartered key employer in the Portland metro area as they continue to scale and evolve their IT infrastructure post-merger! This organization is known for its commitment to strong community engagement and a relationship-first approach to their industry!
They are currently seeking a Network Engineer to join their infrastructure team. This role is hands-on and focused on supporting a large-scale enterprise network across multiple data centers and branch locations.
In This Role, You Will:
· Help design, build, and deploy network infrastructure to support enterprise and cloud environments.
· Administer and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other core networking gear-primarily Cisco hardware.
· Deliver solutions for datacenter and branch network topologies, including producing architecture diagrams and documentation.
· Monitor network performance, outages, and usage patterns to proactively address issues.
· Maintain software versions and configurations for all networking equipment.
· Work with service providers to troubleshoot and resolve circuit issues.
· Participate in after-hours support rotations and assist during critical incidents.
· Mentor and share knowledge with junior team members.
· Ensure compliance with relevant IT policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements:
· HS Diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field preferred.
· 7-10 years of experience in network engineering, with strong Cisco infrastructure knowledge.
· Hands-on experience with core networking protocols: TCP/IP, VRFs, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, GRE.
· Proficiency in SD-WAN platforms and deployment.
· Familiarity with Cisco ACI, Nexus 9K, ISR, ASR, and Catalyst gear.
· Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments-especially Azure VNETs and connectivity.
· Skilled in working with F5 load balancers and MX devices.
· Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear documentation and training.
Work Environment:
· This is a fully onsite role at the client's Portland office.
