The mission of CBH Information Technology is to provide innovative support for our employees, members, and provider networks. The exciting growth of this department has continued to create opportunities for candidates in the technology field, including an opening for a Network Engineer to join CBH. The Network Engineer is responsible for providing high-level comprehensive network and systems design and support to the CBH enterprise.


  • The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for network technologies and will report to the Network Operations Manager. This position will mainly support the network hardware infrastructure, as well as, provide backup support to other systems and applications, as needed.
  • Support a hybrid network environment that’s consists of HPE ProCurve/ Aruba Switches, Dell Switches, Cisco Routers and wireless LAN Controllers and AP’s.
  • Must have working knowledge of security principles in order to manage and configure a WatchGuard Firewall Cluster.
  • Serve as a technical lead to infrastructure related incident response, troubleshooting and resolution efforts.
  • Maintain, monitor and update physical servers, virtual server infrastructure, SAN storage, VoIP phones, wired and wireless network connectivity and firewalls.
  • Develop project plans for the implementation of network projects
  • Document network configuration/procedures and keep them up to date.
  • Manage, maintain and support Active Directory, group policy, DNS, DHCP and other network services
  • Assist security team with security-related projects and incident response
  • Other job duties as assigned


Position Requirements:

  • College degree in a related field and/or combination of technical school education, training, certifications and experience. Industry standard certifications from Cisco, HP OR Juniper such as a CCNA/CCNP/JNCIA/JNCIS. such as MCSA or CCNA preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in administration of an enterprise network, including Microsoft Active Directory Services, DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, VLAN’s; routers, switches, firewalls and other network infrastructure components. Experience in an insurance or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Must have an extensive background in internetworking, LAN, WAY, and Wireless technologies. A strong understanding of core internet protocols and applications is required.
  • Must have experience working with VoIP switches, Link Aggregation/Trunking, Spanning Tree, Nic-Teaming, iSCSI networks, Jumbo Frame network design and Packet Capture Analysis using Wire Shark.
  • Knowledge of networking in Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, write and interpret technical procedures and general business documents.
  • Ability to exchange information effectively with other staff at varying levels of responsibility and varying levels of technical competency.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately, meet deadlines, and complete projects in a timely manner.


Philadelphia Residency Requirement:

  • The successful candidate must be a current Philadelphia resident or become a resident within six months of hire.
