Key Responsibilities:
• Network design and planning, implementing network architecture based on organizational requirements.
• Plan and configure network components such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
• Determine network capacity and scalability needs
• Install and configure networking hardware and software
• Set up and maintain IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, and routing protocols
• Deploy security measures like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
• Monitor network performance and identify bottlenecks or issues.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, updates, and patches to ensure network stability.
• Troubleshoot network outages, connectivity problems, and security breaches.
• Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats
• Stay updated with security best practices and industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies related to network security and data privacy.
• Analyze network traffic patterns and optimize network performance.
• Implement Quality of Service (QoS) to prioritize network traffic based on business needs.
• Recommend and implement network upgrades to meet changing demands.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand network requirements.
• Collaborate with system administrators, software developers, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of network services.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Create documentation for network standards and guidelines.
• Establish exceptional relationships with various departments, consultants, external agencies and leadership resulting in increased process efficiency, improved communication, and reduced cycle time.
• Utilize various sources of data to analyze, suggest opportunities for process improvements & implement system changes throughout team.
• Maintain a collaborative and productive working relationship with their peers.
• Achieve service level goals and quality targets, managing and coaching employees to department performance standards.
• Adheres to change control processes and procedures
• Accurately documents and communicates instances of system failures, repairs, installations, or changes.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance including taking escalation calls.
• Implement, communicate and interprets new and existing policies and procedure to staff members.
• Assumes and performs other duties as assigned.
• Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual department metrics.
Required Qualifications/Education:

• Several years of experience in Network Engineering or related role, with a focus on troubleshooting complex technical issues.
• Candidates must possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Provide subject matter expertise in networking technologies
• Deep understanding of Networking technology, TCP/IP, Cisco and/or Extreme Routing/Switching/WiFi
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
• Proficiency in network hardware and software configuration.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Deep understanding of an ITIL compliant environment, and experience of Servicenow for all aspects of this.
• Experience with routers, TCP/IP networking, Wi-Fi, and server-client relationships are important. Cisco and/or Extreme certifications are desirable
• Fluency in English, both written and oral communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening skills and ability to communicate accurately and effectively in person, over the telephone, through email and other business correspondence
• Proven capability to handle challenging situations, a positive attitude with passion and drive.
• Shows aptitude, initiative and follow through, and has strong project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer related qualifications and certifications will be viewed favorably, especially in Networking and related disciplines
Qualifications:
• Certifications such as ITIL v4 Foundation, CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
