Overview: BAM is seeking an innovative, driven self-starter for a Network Engineer position. This highly technical role requires advanced engineering experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting a global network. The hire will have the opportunity to work on a wide array of networking technologies providing leading edge solutions to the firm. The candidate will embody a mindset of continuous learning and process improvement. A basic understanding of financial markets and trade lifecycles is a plus. As a Network Engineer at BAM, you will:· Design, implement, and maintain a multi-vendor global network· Manage the firewall infrastructure and proactively improve network security· Work closely with technology and investment teams to understand their requirements and provide solutions that align with business needs· Perform network capacity planning to ensure network scales to meet the demands of the business· Define and implement network security standards and best practices· Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting network and security issues· Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation and out of hours network maintenance To be considered a good cultural fit, you must be: · An ambitious self-starter, hungry and driven to learn· Have a genuine interest in network security· Able to multitask and excel in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading environment· Able to work well under minimal supervision to complete projects and tasks on time· Able to think independently to develop quick and sound solutions to complex problems· A strong and efficient communicator and collaborator To be considered a good technical fit, you must have:· Expert knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and network security· Strong knowledge of network protocols, including BGP, OSPF, PIM, and IGMP· Solid understanding of networking in public cloud environments, particularly AWS and Azure· Hands-on experience with Python, Ansible, Git, and network automation tools· The ability to troubleshoot complex network issues Bonus Points for:· Experience with Cisco Meraki solutions· Knowledge of enterprise voice including Cisco CUCM, Zoom Phone, WebEx Calling and Cloud9· Relevant industry certifications: PCNSE, CCNP
