Position Summary

We are seeking a senior-level Network Engineer to support and manage the IT infrastructure of a federal agency. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience with designing and maintaining secure, scalable enterprise networks and will support cross-functional collaboration with system and cloud teams. This role includes responsibility for advanced network device management, network monitoring, and integrating Microsoft 365 and Azure components within the broader infrastructure strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and enterprise network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Administer and monitor Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Juniper devices across organization.
• Suggest, implement, and/or manage network monitoring tools to detect and resolve performance issues.
• Manage firewall policies, VPNs, VLANs, ACLs, and QoS in alignment with agency security requirements.
• Support Microsoft 365 infrastructure from a networking perspective, including Teams Voice QoS.
• Utilize ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, ConnectWise) for incident tracking and service request management.
• Coordinate with system and cloud teams on hybrid infrastructure and Azure networking.
• Ensure change management procedures are followed and documented per agency policy.
• Maintain network documentation and compliance with federal standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FedRAMP).
  
  

Preferred Skills And Tools

• Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP
• In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking sytems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and printers
• Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
• Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-FI and security infrastructure
• Time management
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation
• Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology
• Microsoft Teams Voice support (SBC, QoS, call routing)
• Network-based Azure integrations (VPN, ExpressRoute, NSGs)
• Experience in change control, risk assessment, and configuration management databases (CMDB)
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior-level network engineering experience
• U.S. Citizenship required by government agency.
• Extensive experience with enterprise network architecture and operations
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade equipment from Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Juniper
• Preferred Certifications: CCNP, PCNSE, JNCIP, Azure Network Engineer Associate
• Enterprise Admin Expert
