The Network Engineer role provides the opportunity to to join a global dynamic team that maintains a 24/7 low latency trading environment. You will work very closely with the Systems, Information Security and Development teams to ensure business objectives are met. The ideal candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, be proactive, and able to work independently, within a team and with external parties.

• Genuine enthusiasm for Networks and Open Source.
• Positive, constructive, and open-minded attitude. Self-motivated, able to work autonomously.
• 3-4 years of experience in Network Engineering.
• A clear understanding of Routing and Switching including protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, DHCP, VRRP.
• Experience supporting multi-vendor routing / switching environments (Arista, Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
• An understanding of Firewall operations, configuration and management, primarily Palo Alto and Fortigate.
• Experience working in large Data Centre environments, hands-on with hardware: installation, patching, fibre, UTP
• Available to travel to our London offices 2-3 times a week.

Desirable Skills / Experience:

• Experience with Agile, and/or DevOps methodologies
• A good understanding of the Linux operating system, in particular Ubuntu and Redhat.
• Exposure to OSS monitoring systems (e.g. Nagios, Observium, Prometheus)
• Exposure to scripting and automation using tool such as Netbox, Ansible, Puppet, Bash, Python, GIT
