Description

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role requires deep expertise in Aruba switch deployment and configuration, as well as the ability to lead the migration from a Cisco network environment. Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a comprehensive plan for transitioning enterprise networks from Cisco hardware to Aruba switches.

Configure, test, and deploy Aruba switches, including OS-CX and OS-S models, ensuring seamless integration into existing infrastructure.

Safely decommission and remove legacy Cisco equipment while minimizing disruption to operations.

Diagnose and resolve network issues related to switch performance, VLANs, trunking, spanning tree protocol, and routing.

Collaborate with infrastructure, help desk, and security teams to ensure proper system integration and adherence to company policies.

Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, IP assignments, and configuration records.

Monitor and optimize network performance using tools like Aruba Central, AirWave, or NetEdit.

Train and support team members on the functionality and management of Aruba switches.

Implement and enforce best practices for network security and reliability.

Requirements

Extensive hands-on experience with Aruba switches, including deployment and configuration.

Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, such as routing protocols, VLANs, and QoS.

Familiarity with network management tools like Aruba Central, AirWave, or NetEdit is highly desirable.

Preferred certifications include Aruba Certified Switching Associate; Cisco certifications are a plus.

Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.

Solid understanding of network security practices and compliance standards.

Experience with enterprise-level network migrations or transitions.

Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate technical concepts effectively.
