Job Title: L3/L2 Network Engineer

Location: Onsite (5 days a week) – East Hanover, NJ

Support: Weekend support required for End-of-Life (EOL) activities

Contract: 12 Months

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced L3/L2 Network Engineer to support our growing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end implementation, support, and optimization of our enterprise network, with a strong focus on lifecycle management and wireless technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support EOL network device replacements across access, distribution, and core layers
• Perform rack and stack, physical installation, and initial/final configurations of switches, routers, WLCs, and other network devices
• Provide weekend support for scheduled EOL replacements and migrations
• Assist with replacement and upgrade of Access Points and Wireless LAN Controllers
• Handle incident and problem management for LAN and wireless infrastructure in an ITIL environment
• Troubleshoot guest wireless, WLCs, and Access Points
• Configure, implement, design, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure for new and existing sites
• Lead/participate in P1/P2 incident calls ensuring timely resolution and RCA
• Collaborate with project teams to provide technical network expertise
• Work cross-functionally to ensure smooth network operations and upgrades

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5–6 years of hands-on experience with Cisco LAN technologies:
• VLAN, STP, VTP, HSRP, EtherChannel/Port-Channel
• 5–6 years of experience with routing protocols:
• OSPF, EIGRP
• 5–6 years of expertise in Cisco Wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi 6 deployments
• Strong experience with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC):
• Assurance, Automation, AI-driven monitoring
• Proven incident and RCA experience in LAN/WLAN environments
• In-depth knowledge of network lifecycle processes including EOL/EOS planning
• Experience in high-availability enterprise environments with strong uptime/SLA focus
• Familiarity with project-based networking (new site setups, migrations, upgrades)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cisco certifications: CCNP (Routing & Switching or Enterprise)
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certified
• Experience in network audits, documentation, and compliance
• Exposure to tools such as:
• Cisco DNAC, NetBrain, ServiceNow
• Working knowledge of Cisco Switches and Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs)
