The role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Network Engineer ready to accelerate their career taking operational ownership of our network services. The ideal candidate will

• Be a serious self-starter.
• Be able to hit the ground running, reviewing and enhancing the functionality, reliability and security of our global network, then setting about reviewing and improving operational procedures and practices to ensure it continues to exceed operational targets.
• Aspire to lead and manage a team.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing secure, scalable, and high-availability network solutions.
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex networking issues across LAN/WAN, VPN, and cloud-based networks.
• Working with our peers to continually tune and improve global traffic routes for Fastrack and customer traffic profiles.
• Managing network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls and wireless systems.
• Monitoring and analysing network performance and usage, proactively addressing issues and potential bottlenecks.
• Setting and enforcing network security policies and procedures.
• Automating network configuration and operational tasks.
• Providing support and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Owning and improving operational processes.
• Deploying new services to customers.
• Knocking customer’s socks off through service excellence.

Required Skills

• 3 to 5+ years working in a similar role.
• 1 to 2+ years working with dynamic routing in a telco environment.
• 1 to 2+ years working within a Managed Service Provider.
• Expertise in IP transit and peering. (i.e. Being able to do more than just spell BGP).
• Hands on experience with enterprise network hardware, preferably Edgecore and Fortinet.
• Proficient in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN.
• Strong background in network security.
• Experience operating and configuring monitoring and alerting tools.
• Possessing a desire to learn new technologies and platforms.

Industry certifications highly regarded.
