Southern Veterinary Partners is seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance networks across our Home Office and growing portfolio of veterinary practices. This role is critical in building a unified network strategy that spans hospital locations, centralized data center infrastructure, and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Cisco (including Meraki) & Fortinet networking standards & best practices ROLE SPECIFIC TASKS Design and implement network architecture that supports a rapidly expanding network of veterinary practices. Standardize network deployments for new acquisitions, ensuring secure, reliable connectivity and compliance with company policies. Lead the configuration and architecture of Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and SD-WAN appliances to ensure robust perimeter defense, VPN access, and threat prevention. Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to integrate on-premises and cloud networking in platforms such as AWS, Google, and Microsoft Azure. Develop detailed network documentation including topology diagrams, configurations, and deployment templates to streamline onboarding of new practices. Troubleshoot complex networking issues and mentor team members on best practices and standards. Evaluate and recommend new tools and solutions that enhance operational efficiency, visibility, and security. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco and Meraki solutions; Meraki certification (CMNA) and/or Cisco certifications (CCNP/CCIE) preferred. Proven experience with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer). Experience supporting network standardization and integration during acquisitions. Solid understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network segmentation. Familiarity with cloud networking architectures, particularly in Azure and AWS. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including field operations and hospital staff. Experience with network automation or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for standardized deployments. Background in deploying Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA).
