Summary

Department Information Systems Title Network Analyst I Listed On 5/16/2025 Listed Until 12/31/2025 Sangamon County is looking for a Network Analyst I to be part of a team responsible for the management and support of the countywide network. We are looking for a self-motivated person who can work independently performing network projects. The ideal candidate will have proven network support experience as well as project management, good oral/written communication, and organizational skills. Applicant must be able to work effectively with internal users as well as external IT vendors. Responsibilities Successful applicant will be joining other networking team members responsible for support of the Sangamon County Network. Support the County network, which consists of a variety of servers and endpoints, plus wide area connections to other County locations. Evaluate user requirements for endpoints, hardware/software selection, purchasing, implementation, and ongoing support. Support users and endpoints, including operating systems and applications. Support and usage of data cabling and wireless systems. Requirements Requires lifting of up to 30 pounds. Requires a valid driver's license to drive to the various County office locations. Requires ability to work at a high technical level independently and efficiently. Requires ability to plan, organize, and direct the projects assigned. Requires ability to develop procedures. Requires ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Requires ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and County computer users. Requires employee to be a current resident or become a resident of Sangamon County within 6 months of employment. Skills Prior experience with virtual servers and management, group policy, email filters, networks, firewalls, switches, IP phone systems, security applications, and door management systems is desirable. Knowledge of set-up and installation of endpoints, such as; desktop computers, laptops, and tablets. Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems. Knowledge of TCP/IP, routers, wireless, and other networking devices. Knowledge of installation and troubleshooting of printers and scanners. Possess good organizational and time management skills. Associates Degree or technical training in I.T. Networking or related field desired. Ability to work with various I.T. vendors to solve network/endpoint issues. Two years' experience in an I.T. support role required. Benefits Health, Dental, Life Insurance, Pension Plan, Deferred Compensation, Paid Vacation, Sick Time, and Personal Time.
