POSITION SUMMARY:
InquisIT is seeking a Network Administrator to join us in Washington, DC.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Support a large user base (upwards of 650 users), development and service teams for network, infrastructure, remote access, and logging.
- Administer, monitor, and perform break-fix of network hardware within an operational environment
- Work with InquisIT colleagues on the network engineering team on ongoing and special projects that introduce network innovation and enhance network functionality.
- Work closely with InquisIT colleagues on the Systems and Help Desk teams to troubleshoot physical network layer issues, including the LAN/WAN/WLAN.
- Manage a Cisco VoIP environment (CUCM, desk phones, Jabber, etc.) supporting over 600+ users.
- Work with InquisIT colleagues on the firewall team to ensure network access control integrity and federal security standards are implemented.
- Demonstrate creative thinking.
- Troubleshoot routing protocol issues (BGP, LAC, and MTIPS).
- Create and maintain network diagrams, SOPs, and other documentation.
- Prepare thorough and thoughtful weekly status reports.
- Interact with Federal client employees as well as other contractors on a daily basis.
- Participate in the weekly IT Infrastructure Operations staff meeting to review project(s) status and learn about upcoming initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 3-5 + years of network administration experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience capturing requirements, developing plans in alignment with technical and functional requirements, and managing the testing, integration, and release of enterprise network services
- Experience providing networking solutions, including requirements gathering, architecture design, testing, implementation, documentation, and operational support
- Ability to solve problems by identifying causes, gathering and processing relevant information, and recommending solutions
