Network Administrator for our client in
Alameda, CA.

Position Overview:
- The Network Administrator is responsible for designing, configuring, installing, maintaining, and repairing network systems, subsystems, and servers.
- This position provides information, direction, and / or recommendations regarding network installations and configurations, resolves network operational issues, and offers technical support to district and site staff.
Responsibilities:
- Network Security: Analyze network security to coordinate disaster preparedness and recommend methods to optimize network performance and security.
- Installation: Install network software (client and server) across various platforms (e.g., service packs, application software, operating software, hardware upgrades).
- Maintenance: Maintain network operations and software applications, including routers, data switches, hubs, and transceivers.
- Project Management: Manage major projects such as system migrations, scheduling installations, and product research to ensure services comply with established guidelines.
- System Coordination: Oversee network software, operating systems, and client-server programs to distribute software, maintain log-in scripts, user accounts, and system security.
- Planning & Development: Participate in planning activities, including district-wide committees to create short- and long-term plans for programming support.
- Documentation: Prepare written materials, including procedures, system-level documentation, and reports to document activities and provide reference.
- Research & Recommendations: Research trends, products, equipment, and tests to recommend procedures and purchases.
- Technical Support: Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, school site personnel, and vendors to provide technical assistance.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot network hardware and software malfunctions (e.g., servers, hubs, routers, network protocols) to resolve issues and restore services.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Work under limited supervision using standardized practices and methods.
- Lead, guide, and / or coordinate others.
- Operate within a defined budget.
- Utilize resources from other work units as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Job-related experience within a specialized field.
- Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
- Technology Experience:
- Infrastructure & Networking - VMware, Aruba Central, Palo Alto
- Security & Compliance - CrowdStrike, Rubrik, Security Protocols, Data Privacy Best Practices
- General Systems Knowledge - Strong historical and operational understanding of IT systems.
- Ability to perform multiple, highly complex technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions.
- Competency in utilizing network, application, and operating system monitoring and troubleshooting software.
- Adherence to safety practices.
- Proficiency in planning and managing projects and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
- Proficiency in Algebra and / or Geometry.
- Ability to read technical information, compose various documents, and facilitate group discussions.
- Knowledge of current, legacy, and emerging operating systems, environments, and network protocols.
- Familiarity with router configurations, Inter / Intranet applications, data security, project management processes, and methodology.
- Ability to schedule activities, meetings, and / or events.
- Ability to gather, collate, and / or classify data and consider multiple factors when using equipment.
- Flexibility to work with others in various circumstances and work with data using defined but different processes.
- Capability to handle a wide variety of job-related equipment and data of varied types and purposes.
- Ability to problem-solve with independent interpretation of guidelines and significant equipment-related problem solving.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
