We are hiring a motivated full-stack .NET developer to join the team that develops and operates our digital platform as well as participate in the development of a new one. The team operates with a collaborative and friendly environment to suit a developer’s individual, unique strengths. The role

We are looking for a full stack developer with experience in: .NET 6.0, .NET Core, ASP .NET, REST APIs, jQuery, .NET Framework, and SQL Server DB development. You will be expected to be able to work independently as well as work closely with the team, depending on the activities.

The primary focus of the role will be greenfield development of new product verticals with the potential to also support existing systems.

The role will be competitively remunerated with an opportunity to participate in the company equity incentive program.

The key people the role interacts with and what they define success as

The main interaction point is with the Engineering Manager who sets priorities, timeframes and supports you with technical and systems knowledge. This includes monthly checkpoints. Other interactions include:

• CEO: interaction with the CEO is typical up to an hour each week, primarily with respect to vision, values, and team direction. Success from the CEO’s perspective is buy-in to what the company’s purpose and mission, plans and principles, meeting service levels and deliverables and developing areas of passion to assist grow the company.
• Head of Product: The Head of Product defines all key features and system improvements and works with you on feature specifications and perspective.
• QA Team: The key interaction with the QA team is around helping the team understand the features in development and ensuring an appropriate level of testing is conducted for new features.

Coming on board

The onboarding process is summarised as:

• Getting familiar with what Financial Simplicity does and why?
• Technical induction and familiarisation with development environment and systems.
• Organisation induction as to working environments, key team members, work practices and review cycles.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Enhancement, maintenance, and engineering support of our digital platform on a Microsoft Azure platform.
• Leverage AI development tools as much as practical to optimise performance
• Undertake design and development activities including analysis, coding, testing and deployment in a Microsoft-centric environment.
• In consultation with the customer success team, triage and attend to technical support requests in a manner consistent with service level agreements.
• Build relationships with other team members.
• Must have full-time working rights in Australia.

Skills and experience

Required skills:

• Min 2 Years – Developing all layers of web applications.
• Min 2 Years – Technical Support all layers of web applications.
• Min 2 Years – JavaScript, jQuery, ASP .NET, C# .NET, MS SQL Views & Stored Procedures.
• Min 2 Years – MS Visual Studio IDE.
• Min 1 Years - REST API development.
• Min 1 Years – Typescript
• Proficiency working with Microsoft Azure cloud platform and services.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with; .Net 8.0+, .NET Framework 4.5+, REST APIs IoC, Datasets, Windows Services, XUnit / NUnit & NuGet packages.
• Understanding of Bug and Feature tracking on JIRA cloud.
• Experience with kendo UI Grids highly regarded.
• Experience with NHibernate & FluentNHibernate would be highly regarded.
• Any help desk/networking skills highly regarded.
• Ability to be self-directed and work as part of a cross-functional team.
• Ability to be decisive and initiate action.
• Applying experience, expertise and technology to existing systems.
