Responsibilities As a Navigation Systems Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following: * Develop and validate vehicle and environment models to simulate Navigation/GPS algorithm performance and robustness * Evaluate technical documents, determine sufficiency for demonstrating compliance with specification and airworthiness, summarize findings, recommend changes, and communicate all results to the program office. * Represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff. * Analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment. * Formulate mathematical models or other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify design according to customer engineering requirements. * Perform risk assessments and generate risk mitigation plans and strategies using DoD Risk Management methodology and procedures. * Understand and work well within Integrated Product Team (IPT) organizational structures to deliver timely results. Qualifications * Experience in guidance, navigation, and control algorithm design and validation * Experience with GPS and inertial sensors * Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences or demonstrated comparable experience with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience * Knowledge of system engineering principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development of new and innovative concepts. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Possess strong analytical skills * Proficient in MS Office products Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $129,800.00/Yr. - USD $216,700.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
