Our aspiration is to be the best Third Party team in New Zealand, helping more Kiwi with their business and home ownership goals. Due to an internal move, we have an exciting opportunity to join ASB Third Party Distribution's senior leadership team as our National Operations Manager.
This critical role will be responsible for all operational risk and compliance requirements within Third Party Distribution; looking after all operational functions including our Support Hub, our Onboarding and Accreditation team, our small GO AIA Home Loans and NZHL Contact Centre as well as overseeing Mortgage Adviser Conduct and Compliance.

The National Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and compliant operation of the business across all regions. Key responsibilities include managing risk and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, overseeing contracts and relationships with suppliers, and maintaining robust and secure commission payment systems. The role also involves leading and coordinating the lending maintenance, and customer service teams to ensure high performance and alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, the National Operations Manager plays a critical role in preparing for and managing internal and external audits, while staying ahead of regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and operational readiness.
Your leadership qualities will enable you to give clear direction, guidance and support as required. We are looking for applicants who are proactive and confident in their ability to foster a successful team environment.

We are looking for an experienced leader with a proven track-record who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attention to detail, a strong operational background including regulatory risk and the ability to prioritise time effectively.
Your passion, drive and enthusiasm will be compelling, and you will use your well-developed problem solving, relationship and communication skills to coach, motivate and inspire a high performing team.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong communication skills and strategic thinking, with proven experience in managing external relationships and a solid background in lending within financial services. You should have a deep understanding of compliance and risk management, along with change management experience and a commitment to continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills are essential, as well as knowledge of ASB's credit policy and lending processes. Familiarity with Continuous Process Improvement principles and a relevant business qualification will be beneficial, alongside a solid understanding of the Third-Party Distribution workflow with Mortgage Advisers and Head Groups.
